Welcome to Heart of Georgia Beekeepers!

Our meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at Camp John Hope* in Fort Valley, GA.  The meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. and last approximately an hour.  The membership dues for our club are $12.00 per year.

If you are interested, we have dinner available beginning at 6:00 p.m.  The meals are $9.00/person and are served cafeteria style.  (Each meal consists of 1 meat, 2 vegetables, dessert and drink.)  To make reservations for dinner, please send an email to Once we receive your email, we will send you a link to sign up.

At each meeting, we hold a raffle to raise money for the club’s activities.  Items are donated by our members and/or attendees and tickets are $1.00 each.

Anyone interested in Beekeeping is encouraged to attend the meetings and there is no obligation to join.  Everyone is welcome!!  Hope to see you soon.

Our annual beekeeping class will be held April, 2nd 2016.
It will be held at the FFA Camp on Camp John Hope Rd in Peach county.  We usually start at 9am and we go until 1pm.   The following link is to sign up

Annual Fall Meeting for GBA

The annual fall meeting for the GBA will be held Sept 18th-19th, in Milledgeville, Ga.  There will be guest speakers, from Oregon, Nebraska and several from all over Georgia.  This meeting will also include a honey show.  The rates are $60.00 for GBA members and $75.00 for non GBA members.  The cost to join the GBA is $15 per year.

Introduction to Beekeeping Class

Hello Everyone. This is the registration for our Beekeeping101 Workshop that is on March 21, 2015.

The Heart of Georgia Beekeepers will present a FREE “Introduction to Beekeeping Class” on March 21, 2015 at the Camp John Hope FFA-FCCLA Center 281 Hope Entrance Rd. Fort Valley, GA 31030. This class is designed for people who are interested in starting beekeeping, those who are just interested in beekeeping, or in gardening. The morning session will be in Classroom from 9:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Lunch will be at 12:00.The afternoon session will be from 1:00 PM until mid afternoon (4:00 PM) at a nearby bee yard where students will open bee hives, identify bees, learn the parts of a hive, and see the bees at work. We will have protective gloves, veils, and suits for the students. The class is open to all ages.

Please make sure you register EVERY person that will be attending the class so we will have a record of EACH person.

We will be having a lunch during the break at the cost of $8.00 per person. If you are interested in the luncheon, please make sure you select lunch when you register for the class. Thanks


September’s Meeting

Just a reminder the September’s meeting will be held Tuesday night the 16th at Camp John Hope. The meeting starts at 7:00pm.

Don’t Forget!  to bring your honey for the Honey Show.

September, 2014 Meeting

At this month’s meeting, we will be having the annual Heart of Georgia Beekeepers Honey Show. It will be a Black Jar Contest. In order to participate in the competition, you will need to bring a jar of this year’s honey. The judging will be done by the members in attendance and will be based on taste only. The person with the most votes will have their bottle of honey on display in Mr. Jesse’s booth at the fair.

We will be nominating Board Members this month. If you are interested in one of the roles on the board, please be sure you attend the meeting on Tuesday, September 16.
